Solids & Strokes is an exploration into printing and its possibilities to generate a diversity of colour combinations. Basic compositions of solid rectangles and stroked rectangles are overprinted onto each other. Based on a script like logic and matrix a set of 16 hues is applied to achieve the biggest variety possible. This resulted in a series of more than 200 small prints and 8 big prints creating series of tonal and multicoloured combinations.
Pigment prints are highly saturated, similar to solid coloured ink as used in Silkscreen printing or Offset printing with Pantones. The so called Giclée prints are known for their high colour fastness.
